‘Rail­mo­tor’ for Chin­nor & Princes Ris­bor­ough’s 60th

In a change of plan, the Great Western So­ci­ety’s ‘Rail­mo­tor’ will visit the Chin­nor & Princes Ris­bor­ough Rail­way this summer. As re­ported in SR462, 5542 Ltd’s Hawksworth au­to­coach No. 233 was to be hired to run with the line’s summer guest, the South Devon Rail­way’s ‘64XX’ 0-6-0PT No. 6412, to mark the 60th an­niver­sary of the line’s clo­sure in June 1957. In­stead, GWR steam rail­car No. 93 and trailer coach No. 92 will op­er­ate from Chin­nor on June 29 (mark­ing the clo­sure an­niver­sary) fol­lowed by July 1/2, 8/9 and 15/16. Sub­ject to Net­work Rail gaug­ing ap­proval, it will run into the bay plat­form at Princes Ris­bor­ough, although pas­sen­gers are not yet able to alight here.
