STATFOLD ENGI­NEER­ING IS A ‘TATTOO’ FIXER

Cor­ris Rail­way Kerr Stu­art ‘Tattoo’ 0-4-2ST No. 7 re­turned home in time for Easter af­ter a few weeks at Statfold Engi­neer­ing, where it was re­painted and re­ceived attention to its valve gear to im­prove its op­er­at­ing per­for­mance. The lo­co­mo­tive was last painted when it was com­pleted in 2007. On April 2, Welsh High­land Her­itage Rail­way’s Bag­nall 0-4-2T Gel­ert was trans­ported to Statfold for its mo­tion to be over­hauled. It was with­drawn from ser­vice in 2013, and a new boiler built.
