DID YOU KNOW?
Two of the European place names applied to the ‘E1s’ were incorrectly spelt - twice in one case. No. 96 Salzberg should have been ‘Salzburg’, while No. 111 had the correct spelling of ‘Montpellier’ in the repair register, but its tankside read Montpelier, and the boiler list referred to it as ‘Montarlier’.
