Bagnall pair at Chasewater

-

A closely related pair of Bagnall 0-4-0STs have been reunited at the Chasewater Railway with the arrival of Kent Electric Power Company No. 2 on an extended hire from the Foxfield Railway. Built in 1946 for Littlebrook Power Station in Dartford, No. 2 (Works No. 2842) is an example of the Castle Engine Works standard 14in outside cylindered design. At Chasewater it will be in the company of recently overhauled Dunlop No. 6, which was one of a batch ordered by the Ministry of Supply, featuring 14½in diameter cylinders. Both are due to headline Chasewater’s Summer Gala event on September 9/10. Dunlop No. 6 will make its debut in Dunlop livery, after years in alternative guises before its most recent overhaul. Also due to be in action is Peckett 0-4-0ST ‘Teddy’, and former Walsall Gas Works Sentinel 0-4-0VBT Works No. 9632 could take part if its overhaul is complete.
