‘DOU­GLAS’ GOES INTO THE BLUE

The Ta­lyl­lyn Rail­way cel­e­brated the cen­te­nary of its Bar­clay 0-4-0WT No. 6 ‘Dou­glas’ on Fe­bru­ary 21. It is the only Royal Air Force­owned nar­row gauge steam lo­co­mo­tive in preser­va­tion, and to cel­e­brate the cen­te­nary of the RAF, it has been adopted by the Royal Air Force As­so­ci­a­tion. With RAFA spon­sor­ship, a team of the rail­way’s fe­male vol­un­teers re­painted the lo­co­mo­tive in RAF blue liv­ery.
