A memorial to the Ffestiniog Railway employees who participated in the First World War will be unveiled at Tan-y-Bwlch on November 11.

As far as can be determined, 18 FR employees enrolled for service during the war and two of them lost their lives in France. All will be remembered on the memorial.

Several standard gauge railways erected memorials to their fallen employees, but none of the narrow gauge lines did. The FR memorial has been funded by the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway Trust.
