Conservatives choose ward candidates
Conservatives have announced the names of the candidates to fight the Trossachs and Teith ward in the Stirling Council elections in May.
Incumbent Martin Earl has been re-selected to stand alongside Jeremy McDonald, a Doune resident.
Councillor Earl lives in Brig O Turk and has been Trossachs and Teith councillor for five years.
He has two children at McLaren High and one at Stirling University, and continues to run his own business.
Mr McDonald has lived in Doune for 33 years and is a seasoned campaigner in the area. He has a background in retail and customer service and also does work as a designer.
Councillor Earl said: “It has been a privilege to serve this area and should I be elected again in May I will continue to work hard for our interests at the council, be effective and represent all our communities as efficiently as possible.
“With two candidates, there is the opportunity to double that hard working representation and I look forward to working with Jeremy to ensure we can do that on May 4. “
Mr McDonald added: “It is an honour and a privilege to be selected to run alongside Martin as a Conservative candidate.
“Trossachs and Teith is an amazing area encompassing communities from Crianlarich to Doune and has a wide and varied set of challenges.
“I believe Stirling Council needs to pay more attention to its rural areas and I would like to join Martin in making our case to the council in Stirling.”
