Top string quartet set to perform.. students and U18s
The award-winning Ruisi String Quartet will be appearing later this month as part of the Music in Dollar season of concerts.
They will perform in the Gibson Hall, Dollar Academy on Saturday, February 25 from 7.30pm.
Music in Dollar is keen to encourage families to come to their concerts so entry is completely free for anyone under 18 or in full-time education.
The Ruisi String Quartet performs regularly throughout the UK and Europe, including venues such as London’s Wigmore Hall. They are performing in Dollar as part of their tour supported by the Tunnell Trust, which helps young musicians to bring their music to the more rural parts of Scotland.
The concert will include works by Haydn, Mozart and Ravel, and will last around two hours, with wine and soft drinks served during the interval.
Julian Reeves from Dollar Music Society said:“We’re delighted to welcome the amazing Ruisi String Quartet to Dollar as part of the Music in Dollar Season. These players have quickly established themselves as one of the leading British quartets of their generation.
“We’re very grateful for the support we have received from Enterprise Music Scotland and our concert sponsor, Robertson Fine Arts. Together they make it possible for us to continue to bring first-class musicians, right in the heart of our community – at a fraction of the cost it would usually be.”
Everyone is welcome, with tickets available on the door for just £10.
