Balfron road issetfor closure

Drivers in Balfron face a major road closure starting next week.

A temporary closure to a stretch of the A81 will be put in place to allow Scottish Water to carry out investigation work ahead of a major repair.

A short stretch of the A81 at Balfron Station will be closed from Tuesday for three weeks for investigations before the project to repair damage caused to a bridge when it was struck by a vehicle last September.

Local diversions will be in place.

The repair work is expected to begin in September.

The road at the bridge at Balfron Station is currently reduced from two lanes to one, with traffic lights in operation for single-file traffic.
