Oar­some time at re­gatta

Stir­ling Row­ing Club has won per­for­mance and par­tic­i­pa­tion awards af­ter a suc­cess­ful time in Scot­tish Row­ing’s Sum­mer Sprint Re­gatta Se­ries.

Held in Glasgow on the River Clyde, in Aberdeen on the River Dee and at Lo­chore Mead­ows Loch in Fife, the se­ries saw all Scot­tish row­ing clubs take part.

Club cap­tain Neil McGuire said “This was a great com­pe­ti­tion and is a fab­u­lous re­sult for Stir­ling.

“The sprint races, all be­ing short races be­tween 250m and 500m, was a great fun for­mat dif­fer­ent to the nor­mal rac­ing calendar.

“We will cer­tainly look to par­tic­i­pate in this se­ries again in 2018.

“Congratulations to all Stir­ling crews who took part and to all our vol­un­teers who help out at th­ese events “

The club re­ceived a prize of a Cox Box coach­ing equip­ment for each of their awards.
