Endof round pound
Shoppers in Stirling have just two days to use up their round £1 coins.
The coins will no longer be accepted by shops and businesses from midnight on Sunday and people are being urged to spend or bank the old coins before the deadline passes.
After Sunday only the new, 12-sided £1 coins can be spent.
Any unspent £1 coins after October 15 can still be traded in at banks.
The Royal Mint’s chief executive Adam Lawrence said: “The round pound has been in circulation for over thirty years but as the deadline approaches we are keen to encourage everyone to track down their final coins and use them.”
