Gun threat man in term
A Fallin man who threatened to “get a gun” and use it has been jailed.
Ryan McNeil appeared at Stirling Sheriff Court on Wednesday, charged with behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, swearing a making threats of violence.
McNeil (23), who appeared from custody, committed the offence in Polmaise Crescent, Fallin, in February this year.
At around 2.55pm on February 1 the male and female witnesses attended Polmaise Crescent and encountered McNeil.
Fiscal depute, Lindsey Brooks said: “The accused was looking for a fight. The witness said he was just out of hospital and didn’t want to fight.”
The court heard how McNeil then said: “I’ll go get a gun and get you”.
Defence agent, Frazer McCready, said that the father-oftwo, whose mother died suddenly last year, had been told by his aunt that the witness had been making remarks about him. McNeil had previously been in a relationship with the other witness.
Sheriff Alison Mckay described it as “an unpleasant incident” and jailed him for five months.
McNeil had also appeared at Stirling Sheriff Court earlier in the week on a separate charge. On Monday he was jailed for six months for stealing his own Christmas-present jumper from an aunt’s house and was later arrested while wearing the item.
