The best wheelchair curlers in the world will be on the ice at The Peak next week when the fourth Stirling Wheelchair Curling International Invitational takes place.

This is the fourth year the event has taken place and the World Curling Federation recently included it as one of only three wheelchair curling classification events on the globe.

Eight teams – holders Norway plus Russia, Scotland, Czech Republic, England, Finland, Korea and Switzerland – will be in Stirling from Tuesday, playing in a roundrobin format with the final scheduled for Friday, October 20, at 9.45am.

Six of the countries are ranked in the world’s top 10 for the PyeongChang 2018 ParalympicWinter Games and many hotly contested games are anticipated.

Dougie Hanley of The Peak said:“We are excited to be hosting the annual event again this year and we look forward to welcoming all the curlers.

“We would like to wish all the teams competing the best of luck.”
