Two new Girl Guide units are set to launch in Stirling.

There are a number of units for girls aged 5-18 within Forth Valley County, which stretches from Bo’ness to Strathblan­e and Killin to Denny.

The new Stiring units are Rainbows (girls aged 5-7) and Rangers (girls aged 14-18).

Over the past 18 months the badges and activities in Girl Guiding have been given a makeover and there are now over 800 new badges and activities for girls to work towards.

Among the new activities on offer are boxing, financial management, 3D design and survival skills.

Also included are whittling, grow your own, exploring nature and first aid.

Girls can choose to work towards badges including entreprene­ur, inventing, navigator, animation, self-care and human rights. Other activities include DIY and holding your own election.
