Greek-style helmet is taken during £3,000 raid on home

Stockport Express - - News -

BURGLARS stole a distinctive Greek-style helmet in a house break-in.

The replica Corinthianera helmet and other valuables, worth a total of £3,000, were taken from a house on Ashburn Road in Heaton Norris, Stockport.

Police said Christmas has been ‘ruined’ for the victims.

The helmet was part of a set which also featured a breast and back plate.

They were found abandoned in the back garden.

Police are now appealing for witnesses amid fears the property taken could be offered for sale on the black market.

The burglary took place between 2.15pm and 10.30pm on December 19.

A television, a laptop, two digital cameras, a bicycle, a mobile phone, a games console and the replica helmet were taken in the raid.

Pc Joel Massender said: “Burglary is an incredibly intrusive crime and those responsible have ruined the victim’s Christmas with their selfish and reprehensible actions.”
