Dad and son on the run
A FATHER and son have teamed up to go on the run for Francis House Children’s Hospice.
John and Declan Fleming, from Heaton Mersey, will join thousands of others taking part in the Great Manchester Run on May 28.
The pair are aiming to raise £1,000 in sponsorship for the hospice in Didsbury, which provides care and respite for children with life-limiting illnesses. John, 51, is an experienced runner who has successfully completed the Wilmslow Half Marathon twice – and the Greater Manchester Run five times – but has not put on his running shoes for four years.
“I want us to run and stick together the whole way round,” said John.
