IT may be sum­mer hol­i­day time but Pan­tomime was cen­tre stage at The Plaza on Mersey Square in Stock­port re­cently when Aladdin, star­ring Ted Rob­bins and Brian Capron, was un­veiled as this year’s pro­duc­tion.

Ted Rob­bins, who is known to mil­lions of fans for his much-loved roles in TV’s Phoenix Nights,’ Corona­tion Street and as The Gover­nor in the top CBBC Show ‘The Slam­mer,’ makes a wel­come re­turn to The Plaza and is guar­an­teed to bring the house down when he stars as Widow Twanky.

Aladdin will be played by new­comer to Plaza pan­tomimes Ben­jamin Con­nor and Wishee Washee by the ever pop­u­lar Bradley Thomp­son, who makes a wel­come re­turn to The Plaza for his third year with all the en­ergy and love­able charm he is fa­mous for.

Adding a sparkling ori­en­tal majesty to pro­ceed­ings will be Becky Ben­nett, who is re­turn­ing due to pop­u­lar de­mand, this time as Princess Bal­roubadour in a role she is guar­an­teed to make her own with her el­e­gance, grace and stun­ning singing voice.

Fi­nally, star­ring along­side Ted Rob­bins is an­other pop­u­lar star of stage and screen Brian Capron, who along­side star­ring roles in the West End in pro­duc­tions such as Guys And Dolls and The Rocky Hor­ror Show is well-known for his many tele­vi­sion roles in­clud­ing as the mur­der­ous Richard Hill­man in Corona­tion Street.

Brian en­sures The Plaza has the per­fect evil Abanazar… oh yes he does!
