Pedal power team raise charity cash
A VICAR rounded up 10 of his flock to take on the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride.
The Rev Andy Bull from St Mark’s Church in Bredbury and his team of church-going cyclists completed the ride and raised over £500 for the Children’s Society along the way.
Made up of all ages and abilities, the team cycled the 60-mile route to cross the finish line together in four-and-a-half hours.
The Rev Bull has been at St Mark’s since 2010 and has been building a team to take on a cycling challenge for the past four years.
The church on Redhouse Lane has also been raising cash for the Children’s Society at its annual Christingle service every year and has raised more than £18,000.
The Rev Bull said: “We are delighted to know the money raised from our efforts will go towards changing the lives of disadvantaged children and young people.”
Laura Balcombe from the Children’s Society added: “Cycling the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride is a fantastic achievement and Reverend Andy Bull and his team’s inspiring efforts will help to make a real difference to young people’s lives.”
