School dances away with award
A STOCKPORT outfit has been crowned Vocational Dance School of the Year.
Debut Arts Academy, based on Lower Hillgate, took the title in the Dance School of the Year Awards.
The awards, now in their fifth year, were founded by Anne Walker MBE to celebrate the achievements of theatre dance schools.
Thousands of schools of all sizes from across the UK and Europe entered and 34 schools were shortlisted
Judges Paul Haigney, Francesca Filpi and Angela Rippon joined more than 150 dance teachers at the awards.
Anne Walker said: “You are already winners, because you have created many poised, disciplined, well-mannered young people who will go through life understanding how to work as a team - because of you. They will realise that through hard work and diligent practice anything is possible because of you.
“They will know that dreams really can come true - because of you.”
