Your chance to see top swing band... for free!
A DOUBLE bass player from Stockport is returning to his home town with a new show, ‘Swing Time’.
Ken Marley has been on a nationwide tour with the show, which features the band Five Star Swing, performing classics by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Glenn Miller and many more.
The tour, which started at London’s Leicester Square Theatre and will be on at Stockport Plaza on Wednesday, September 27, is raising money for the Poppy Appeal.
The show is led by Chris Smith Jnr, composer and arranger for the BBC Radio Big Band and former composer for the Herb Miller Big Band – led by Glenn Miller’s brother.
Ken said: “Fans have enjoyed this ‘feel-good’ style of music for generations. Following our extensive UK tour I’m excited to be bringing the sound of our big brass band, saxes, rhythm and vocalists back home.”
The Stockport Express has teamed up with Five Star Swing to give away three pairs of tickets to the Plaza show.
To be in with a chance of winning simply answer the following question: “What was the name of the bandleader brother of Glenn Miller?”
