A CHILDREN’S charity has appealed for volunteers to help staff their shops in Stockport.

Barnardo’s is looking for people to fill roles at outlets on Station Road, Cheadle Hulme, Cheadle High Street, London Road in Hazel Grove, Bramhall Lane South, Bramhall, Market Street, Marple and Castle Street in Edgeley.

The stores are a crucial source of income for the charity, which provides services for some of the area’s most vulnerable children.

Karen Tasker, store manager at Cheadle Hulme, said: “Volunteers are the backbone of our shops and we would not be able to do what we do without them.”

“Volunteering in one of our shops can offer a number of different development opportunities – we can support volunteers to gain qualifications and help them to progress.”
