Knitted poppies are tribute to war dead

-

RESIDENTS, staff and friends of a retirement home in Heaton Chapel have knitted poppies to make a display to mark Remembrance Day.

The creation, decorating Adlington House on Nelstrop Road, includes more than 100 poppies to remember those who have fought and died in wars, both now and throughout history. Joanne Jones, housing with care manager at Adlington House, said: “Visitors to Adlington House have been highly impressed by the display, most of them taking photographs and sending them all over the world.”
