Man, 50, dies after bike crash

A PEDESTRIAN died after he was hit by a motorbike in Stockport town centre.

The man, aged in his 50s, suffered fatal injuries when he was struck on Bridgefield Street, near the Redrock entertainment complex, in the town centre at around 7.25pm on Monday night.

He was hit by a Kawasaki 125 with an 18-year-old male rider.

The rider, who was injured in the crash, was taken to hospital.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed inquiries were continuing into the incident.
