Mayor’s playground fun

Stockport Express - - History -

THE mayor of Stockport paid a visit to a Cheadle Hulme pre-school to open its new outdoor classroom.

Coun Walter Brett opened Hulme Hall Pre-School’s new facility and couldn’t resist trying it out for himself.

Head of Hulme Hall Pre-School, Harjinder Khinda, said: “We are delighted with the outside area which gives the children so much scope for role play and investigation.

“We have been on our Davenport site for a full academic year and are now able to utilise all the space to its full potential.”

The children were keen to show the Mayor their new classroom and Coun Brett was more than happy to oblige, even testing some of the equipment himself.

He played alongside children in the sand, put on a hard hat in the construction area and visited in the Junior Learning Centre to see the next stage of Hulme Hall education.

He said: “It is so important for children to learn through play and facilities such as this give them the opportunity to do just that.”
