Photographers in the frame for calendar success
KEEN photographers have had their work featured in this year’s Vernon Building Society calendar.
The 13 winning pictures, all showing scenes in Stockport, have been selected for the calendar through a competition asking people to send in their images.
The calendar is now available in the Vernon’s six branches for a suggested donation of £5 and proceeds will go to Signpost Stockport for Carers, selected by competition winner John Varley.
John’s photograph of the Reddish Vale Viaduct was selected to feature on the front page of the calendar.
He said: “Thank you for this opportunity to pick the charity from your list.
“After looking through them I could find plenty of reasons to choose any of them to receive the money raised from the calendar sales, but after careful consideration I chose Signpost.
“My wife and daughter have both been carers and I have seen first hand how this can affect the lives of both the carers and the cared for.”
Vernon marketing manager Alex Deakin added: “This year’s calendar was an absolute success and will provide well deserved funds for Signpost Stockport for Carers.”
