Festival’s £80k tent appeal
THE organisers of the Headlander Festival are looking for an individual, business or charity interested in using their £80,000 marquee on the Thursday night.
The festival is due to take place on the weekend of June 21 and 22 at Stockport Rugby Club in Bramhall, and the marquee will be erected on the Wednesday for a sportsman’s dinner.
On the Friday it will be used for a gala dinner hosted by Marketing Stockport, but there is currently a vacancy for an event on the Thursday.
Last year the marquee was used by charity Millie’s Trust for a fundraising dinner.
Festival organisers are keen to hear from a business or charity with an event to feature in June – and are even open to working with a local couple looking to get married.
Festival organiser Chris Keene said: “This year the set up and running costs of the festival marquee is in excess of £80,000 and we would love to offer the opportunity for usage at a fraction of the cost to ensure it doesn’t go unused for the night.
“We are open to any ideas that people may have and just urge you to get in touch with any interest.’’
Last year’s festival saw over 5,000 people attend over two days to watch headline acts such as Toploader and Stooshe and enjoy the family funfair, local crafts, food and drink.
Anyone interested in the marquee can contact Rachael at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 07921 522218.
