Language Link’s rewarding Spanish exchange programme returns for the summer
A group of around 50 students from Madrid and Valencia are to be welcomed into homes in the north west at the end of June.
Spanish boys and girls from 12 to 17 years of age are to be matched with local students of the same age and with similar interests, with whom they’ll spend a few weeks experiencing life in t he Greater Manchester area and accompany to school.
The three to four week programme has grown considerably during the last six years and always proves to be an enriching and educational experience for ever ybody involved.
Many of the local students forge friendships for life and get the chance to improve their Spanish and trade the gloomy north west for blue sk ies, beaches and paella.
Spanish guests include keen footballers, sports enthusiasts, musicians and linguists as well as members of the Spanish Scout and Guide movements.
All of whom are look ing for British pals with whom they can improve their English.
Ever yone tak ing part will experience a great night in a superb Italian restaurant and receive an invitation to meet one of the borough’s Mayors.
