Lan­guage Link’s re­ward­ing Span­ish ex­change pro­gramme re­turns for the sum­mer

A group of around 50 stu­dents from Madrid and Va­len­cia are to be wel­comed into homes in the north west at the end of June.

Span­ish boys and girls from 12 to 17 years of age are to be matched with lo­cal stu­dents of the same age and with sim­i­lar in­ter­ests, with whom they’ll spend a few weeks experiencing life in t he Greater Manch­ester area and ac­com­pany to school.

The three to four week pro­gramme has grown con­sid­er­ably dur­ing the last six years and al­ways proves to be an en­rich­ing and ed­u­ca­tional ex­pe­ri­ence for ever ybody in­volved.

Many of the lo­cal stu­dents forge friend­ships for life and get the chance to im­prove their Span­ish and trade the gloomy north west for blue sk ies, beaches and paella.

Span­ish guests in­clude keen foot­ballers, sports en­thu­si­asts, mu­si­cians and lin­guists as well as mem­bers of the Span­ish Scout and Guide move­ments.

All of whom are look ing for Bri­tish pals with whom they can im­prove their English.

Ever yone tak ing part will ex­pe­ri­ence a great night in a su­perb Ital­ian restau­rant and re­ceive an in­vi­ta­tion to meet one of the bor­ough’s May­ors.
