ASTOCKPORT woman says she has been bombarded with flirty messages from a smooth-talking call centre worker in South Africa.

Adele Berry, 21, was put through to an operator 8,000 miles away when she called Vodafone to complain about a bill.

But just a few days after the call handler sorted out a refund she was stunned to receive a string of messages from the worker, named Miguel, jokingly calling himself her ‘future hubby’.

Since then she has been swamped with further unsolicited Whatsapp messages as well as a picture from her unwelcome admirer.

One of the texts said: “It’s Miguel from Vodafone or future hubby. Wow I knew you beautiful but damn you’re beautiful.”

Miguel also said he would ‘buy all the shoes you want’ and also included a snap of himself. Other messages ask after ‘future in-laws’.

Adele, who lives in Reddish, said she had passed the time of the day with man when she made the initial complaint during her March 6 conversation, to fill ‘dead air’ – but did not expect to be hearing back from him.

She said: “He said what are you going to buy and I said ‘probably some shoes’.

“He told me his family lives nearby in Liverpool.

“He knows my address – what’s to say he turns up at my address?”

Having received 18 messages from ‘Miguel’, Adele has tried to stem the tide of advances, making several complaints to Vodafone – and even contacting police.

A spokeswoman for Vodafone said the pest employee has since been suspended while the matter was investigated.
