Green win just Grand
A MAJOR council regeneration project has won a national environment award.
CBRE and B&M Waste Services, who provide waste management for Grand Central, in the town centre, have won the Green Apple Environment Award.
It came after the recycling rate at Grand Central, currently being redeveloped into commercial sector Stockport Exchange, rose to 85 per cent.
Councillor Patrick McAuley, executive member for economic development, said: “Getting Stockport carbon neutral is integral to the council’s Investing in Stockport strategy.
“Action on a project’s sustainability credentials helps secure the local economy and jobs.”
