COACH PARK PLAN WILL HELP
IN response to your article ‘Coach Park Plan Anger’ I would like to offer the following observations.
First and foremost, not everyone is angry about this development. I and many other local residents believe that anything the school (Cheadle Hulme) can do to get its traffic – coaches, parents and students – off the roads as quickly as possible is desperately needed.
The proposed coach drop-off and collection area will in fact reduce the traffic problems.
At present there are 12 coaches transporting pupils to and from school. Currently there is only parking space for eight, so where do the other four coaches wait to pick up pupils?
On the streets. Yes you can walk down the roads of Gillbent, Hilltop and Highfield any school day afternoon and see coaches parked up, sometimes with engines still running, waiting to go into the school to collect pupils at the end of the day.
