‘Adorable’Andrea dies of sudden brain haemorrhage
ADRIVING instructor died from a brain haemorrhage just 48 hours after she complained of sudden pains in her neck.
Touching tributes have been paid to ‘ adorable’ Andrea Dale, who was just 30.
Andrea, from Altrincham, was admitted to Wythenshawe Hospital last week after initially believing she had simply strained a muscle in her neck.
The pain, however, increased and an ambulance was called.
Her condition in hospital deteriorated and she passed away two days later following an operation to remove fluid from her brain at Salford Royal Hospital.
Andrea was fit and healthy and friends and family said her shock death came completely without warning. They are now raising money for a lifeline charity in her memory.
Andrea, who lived with her partner of eight years Ashley Platt, on York Street, Altrincham, was a former pupil at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls.
She went on to study criminology at Manchester University and worked for Aspire Driving school and part-time at Manchester Airport, with security company G4S.
Ashley, 29, said Andrea initially believed that she had strained a muscle. He said: “It was all just out of the blue. She was fit and healthy – just a normal 30-year-old. It all started as a pain in her neck. She was a very positive person who was always happy and polite.
“She was just amazing. People would find it hard to say anything negative about her.”
Ashley has set up a JustGiving website page for donations in Andrea’s memory to Headway, the national brain injury charity.
She leaves mum Valerie, dad Andy and brother Mark. Mum Valerie said Andrea loved Altrincham, despite many of her friends moving away.
She added: “She was excited about her future here. She was saving up so that she could buy her first home in Altrincham. Sadly this dream will never come true.”
Friends have paid tribute in dozens of Facebook and social media posts.
One said: “Words can’t express what she meant to us all. Andrea will be remembered as a lovely, adorable, beautiful lady and all who knew her will miss her.
“She was a fit and healthy 30-year-old and the sudden loss has dev- astated her friends and family.
“Her smile could light up a room. She genuinely touched the hearts of everyone she met. Andrea loved her life, and everything she wanted was here. We’re just all so sad that she has left us.”
A funeral service was held at Altrincham Crematorium in Dunham Massey, Trafford, on Tuesday.
