Mum’s snip for autism

Strathearn Herald - - STRATHEARN VIEW - Ross Gardiner

A Creiff mum is having her hair cut off to support Perth Autism Support.

Sharon Bain is having her hair cropped at Morrison’s Academy Hall in Crieff on Saturday, September 30, as part of a planned 90s-themed fundraiser for Perth Autism Support.

The full-time carer, whose son Tyrone (10) has relied on support from the charity for the last three years, is desperate to see the service stay open.

She said:“Perth Autism Support would be missed greatly and without it, we would be lost. Everyone is pouring their heart out and doing what they can to save it.

“They work tirelessly to provide an unbelievable service across Perth and Kinross.”

Sharon’s hair currently reaches halfway down her back, and if she meets her target of £2000 she’ll chop it all off, however most of it will be cut off even if she doesn’t hit the target.

Perth Autism Support had prepared to close with immediate effect at the end of August due to a lack of funding. However, emergency grants have ensured that the charity can continue to provide its service until at least the end of November.
