Keen to cast your spell on panto au­di­ence? Get in­volved

It’s panto au­di­tion sea­son.

Oh yes, it is! And Com­rie Drama have a num­ber of roles to be filled for this year’s pro­duc­tion - in­clud­ing that of Elvis!

The am­a­teur dra­matic group is wel­com­ing all in­ter­ested par­ties to come along to au­di­tions for The Wiz­ard of Oz this Sun­day, Septem­ber 3 in Com­rie Parish Church hall, at 2pm.

Morag Mack­in­tosh, of Com­rie Drama, said: “We would like to au­di­tion any young peo­ple who would be in­ter­ested in a role in the cho­rus - this is also the ideal place for any adults who are keen to have a go in panto but don’t fancy a big­ger speak­ing role! There are quite a num­ber of small parts as fol­lows: cho­rus/mi­nor roles, the Wiz­ard, doc­tor, woods­man, gate­keeper, cham­ber­lain, Munchkins, cit­i­zens of the Emer­ald City, winged mon­keys and for­est peo­ple.

“Then from 3pm to 4pm, those who would like to be con­sid­ered for the prin­ci­pal roles can have a go. There are quite a num­ber of adult parts, in­clud­ing Elvis.”

Morag continued:“The Com­rie Panto is al­ways a pop­u­lar event an this could be your chance to be a part of the ac­tion.

“We would ask par­ents to ac­com­pany any child un­der 12 years to au­di­tions, and all chil­dren un­der 16 will be given parental con­sent forms to be com­pleted be­fore re­hearsals be­gin.”
