Road works on A85

Strathearn Herald - - HER@LD VIEW - Rachel Clark

Roseanna Cunningham, MSP for Perthshire South and Kinross-shire, is urging motorists to plan ahead as roadworks are set to be carried out on the A85.

Work is scheduled to commence on Monday, October 2 on the A85 between St Fillans and Comrie for essential maintenance and resurfacing works.

It is expected to take up to two weeks to complete.

Ms Cunningham said: “I understand that people can get frustrated at the delays and inconvenience that roadworks of this nature can cause but sometimes it is unavoidable and it means that essential work is getting done, resulting in longer term benefit for us all.

“BEAR Scotland have informed me that they intend carrying out the resurfacing work from October 2 until October 13 from 7am until 7pm each day. The traffic management system will involve a 10mph convoy system during these hours and a 30mph speed limit at other times.

“Obviously, this will impact on journey times and I would urge anyone whose journeys might be affected by the works to plan ahead as much as possible.”
