Strathearn Herald - - PROPERTY -

A big-hearted Strathearn woman has swum, biked and run nearly 2000 miles across Tayside ahead of a race to raise funds for her cancer-stricken cousin.

Auchterarder physiotherapist Fiona Maclean, 43, has also been attacked by a swan, dodged jellyfish and lost a training shoe to a boggy marsh while training for this weekend’s Ben Nevis Braveheart Triathlon.

Named the UK’s‘toughest triathlon’ the race comprises a 1.2 mile loch swim, 56 mile bike ride and a 13 mile run up and down Britain’s highest mountain.

Fiona is taking on the extreme challenge to raise vital funds for her beloved Scottish cousin Julie StrelleyJones, 45, who has incurable secondary breast cancer.
