Crieff shops feature in the second edition of a popular guide to Scotland’s traditional shopfronts.

Muthill resident Dr Lindsay Lennie has had a second edition of her guide to the history and conservation of traditional shop fronts published by Historic Environment Scotland (HES).

Ian Hamilton, chairman of Strathearn and District Archaeological Society welcomed the new edition. He told the Herald: “The free book is primarily intended to assist owners and tenants of historically significant premises to maximise the potential of their investment by exploiting the architectural features which can attract custom by offering a unique, welcoming environment. However, residents in any town or village fortunate to have such shops would find this publication fascinating and in no way a dry, academic read.”
