New Crieff gift card plans are announced
Plans for a new Crieff Gift Card were unveiled by Neil Combe, manager of Crieff Succeeds BID (Business Improvement District), during the group’s annual open meeting which was held at Strathearn Artspace on Wednesday last week.
The Gift Card – which is on track to be launched in the next couple of months - is designed to encourage Crieff people to shop local and to drive footfall to the town’s shops, bars, restaurants and services.
The scheme allows card holders to spend the balance in different outlets that are part of the initiative.
At the meeting, Mr Combe revealed that a number of outlets have already signed up to be involved, and that more businesses in the town are welcome to get involved.
The scheme is free for any business to sign up r Combe said: “Crieff Succeeds BID is excited to offer the Crieff Gift Card to promote our fantastic local businesses and encourage people to spend money with them.
“This is a really simple solution, one that’s easy for the person buying the card, and easy for the business that’s taking it.
“It’s flexible – you choose the value you put on the card and the recipient can then spend it any of the network of shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and local businesses where it’s accepted. .
“We Mare hoping for an enthusiastic take-up from Crieff’s business community, who see the benefits of this promotion of the area.”
The gift card concept has already proved very popular in Perth, Glasgow’s West End, and towns in England.
Mr Combe added: “This is about giving someone a gift and helping to make sure that the money is spent in Crieff, that it stays with the businesses here.
“If you buy a card as a gift for a friend or loved one, then you’re giving a gift to Crieff as well.”
