Time to stay in Scotland
Don’t be expecting this to be the video game version of Charlie Brooker’s much-revered television series of the same name - this Black Mirror is a revamp of a 2003 PC adventure game in the spirit of Broken Sword.
Set right here in Scotland, you play David Gordon, a young man who has returned home to uncover the mystery of his father’s death, so cue puzzle solving, interactions with creepy characters and a genuinely disturbing castle setting.
It’s an absorbing ride, albeit relatively short by today’s standards - six hours - and the plot draws you in. Downsides are that the graphics are a bit unpolished and the voice acting sounds like something from early Playstation releases.
However, if you can put that aside, Black Mirror is a nice change of pace and has a real cinematic feel.
