Seasonal spirit spreading through Auchterarder as annual Christmas tree festival starts
Local firms have lined-up to back a showcase of seasonal spirit.
Now in its fifth year, Auchterarder Bloom Association’s Christmas Tree Festival is bigger than ever before with 40 firs on display, sponsored by businesses and local organisations.
The event began on Monday and runs until December 23.
Members of Auchterarder Bloom Association are delighted that Auchterarder Parish Church has again agreed to host the event, which is designed to promote businesses and groups within the area and to attract locals and visitors to the Lang Toon.
A spokesperson said that, each year, the festival has attracted more than 1500 people – including 370 nursery and primary school children.
And the bloom association is keen to let people know that the trees are live, planted out again, looked after and recycled by the members for the following year.
The event is open from 2-5pm, Monday-Saturday, until its conclusion.
Entry is £2 for adults, with accompanied children free of charge.
The fee includes teas, coffee and cakes.
Live music from local artists takes place from 2-4pm on Saturday this week as part of the festival.
