Sea­sonal spirit spread­ing through Auchter­arder as an­nual Christ­mas tree fes­ti­val starts

Lo­cal firms have lined-up to back a show­case of sea­sonal spirit.

Now in its fifth year, Auchter­arder Bloom As­so­ci­a­tion’s Christ­mas Tree Fes­ti­val is big­ger than ever be­fore with 40 firs on dis­play, spon­sored by busi­nesses and lo­cal or­gan­i­sa­tions.

The event be­gan on Mon­day and runs un­til De­cem­ber 23.

Mem­bers of Auchter­arder Bloom As­so­ci­a­tion are de­lighted that Auchter­arder Par­ish Church has again agreed to host the event, which is de­signed to pro­mote busi­nesses and groups within the area and to at­tract lo­cals and visi­tors to the Lang Toon.

A spokesper­son said that, each year, the fes­ti­val has at­tracted more than 1500 peo­ple – in­clud­ing 370 nurs­ery and pri­mary school chil­dren.

And the bloom as­so­ci­a­tion is keen to let peo­ple know that the trees are live, planted out again, looked af­ter and re­cy­cled by the mem­bers for the fol­low­ing year.

The event is open from 2-5pm, Mon­day-Satur­day, un­til its con­clu­sion.

En­try is £2 for adults, with ac­com­pa­nied chil­dren free of charge.

The fee in­cludes teas, cof­fee and cakes.

Live mu­sic from lo­cal artists takes place from 2-4pm on Satur­day this week as part of the fes­ti­val.
