Care home wins at bingo night
A Strath community clubbed together to raise funds for a Crieff care home recently.
Volunteers at the Royal British Legion in Crieff raised £900 for The Birches care home by hosting a bingo night and a high tea.
The cash raised for the Crieff home will go towards activities for the residents and a fund for those who need extra help buying clothes and other essentials.
Care home manager Robert Ainslie said: “We are hugely grateful to the Royal British Legion and all of our kind-hearted neighbours for donating to our residents’ comfort fund.
“We have our own minibus at The Birches and are always planning activities out in the community so that residents can take full advantage of local life and meet new people.
“The money raised will give them the opportunity to discover new places and make memories with friends.”
The care home, which offers long and short-term residential and dementia care, hope the Legion members’donation will help to encourage residents to continue taking part in their favourite hobbies and pastimes.
