Neither console does proper 4K gaming but the PS4 Pro is the one that comes closest. While the Xbox One S is just upscaling 1080p (and only has games optimised for HDR), the Pro has more power, so it can up the resolution to 1800p, add in more detailed textures and increase the frame rate. That’s as long as the game you’re playing has been designed to be compatible with it. That number is growing all the time but right now it’s only about 30 – and some real modern classics are missing, GTA V and Destiny to name just two. The bottom line is, both will look better than the previous models, but the Pro will look best.
