Soundbars tend to be long and fat, which means they don’t look great sitting next to a slinky modern TV. That makes Polk Audio’s diminutive Magnifi Mini quite an attractive proposition. Claiming “huge sound from a mini soundbar”, it should deliver the goods in a form factor that’s no bigger than your lunchtime baguette.

Is it any good?

While there’s plenty to admire about the Magnifi Mini, its performance can’t beat a full-sized soundbar, especially when you consider its price. That said, you do get a spacious sound from this thing with its side-firing drivers, and it’s competent enough handling treble. Plus, there’s built-in Google Chromecast for streaming audio from your smartphone or tablet via Spotify, Tidal and the like.
