Glue & paintbrush Clear sealer

Roll out the air-drying clay to about 5mm thick and so that it measures slightly larger than the size of your placemat. Carefully lay the placemat lightly on top of the rolled clay and cut to fit around the outside using a sharp knife. Using the tip of the knife, score the surface of the clay with a woodgrain pattern – you may wish to practise drawing this design on paper beforehand to make sure you’re happy with the look.
