I’m looking to freshen up the exterior of my property and give it some kerb appeal – do you have any tips to help me out?

Tidy up It’s amazing how much difference clearing clutter and debris can make. Once it’s all gone, sweep up leaves for a neat finish.

Tackle greenery Clear weeds, cut and edge lawns and trim any overhanging branches or vegetation to get a smart, cared-for look. Get your flowerbeds under control and plant flowers in a large pot by the front door.

clean paintwork Wash windows and your front door to make them bright and clean. Polish numbers, knockers and letterboxes.

cheer up your door A coat of door paint can transform your home. Bright colours such as pillar box red are eye-catching, or go black for understated style.

disguise bins Refuse bins are necessary but ugly. Conceal them inside a pretty wooden store, or hide them behind a screen. Or, go all out and give them personality with bold stickers. Have a look on wheelie-bin-art.co.uk
