Make a day of it

Turn your picnic spot into a cosy den where you can unwind for hours. Hang up sheets or canvas to create a shaded area from the sun and add comfort with scatter cushions and blankets. Try and use waterproof materials to avoid damage from damp grass. If you wanted to go all out, get the kids involved and build a teepee using logs found in the woods and cover with fabric.
