-

Use fabric paints to create your own design and transform it into a decorative cover

Takes 3hrs skill level

foam brushes, £1 for three, Hobbycraft 1.5m strong white fabric dylon fabric paints in turquoise, yellow & dark pink, from £1.24 each, dunelm tape measure fabric scissors sewing machine 40 x 40cm cushion inner

Use a foam brush to wet part of the fabric and then another brush to dab on different-coloured fabric paints to create a watercolour effect. Drop water on top of the paints, too, to help mix the colours. Once the fabric is completely dry, cut into one 42 x 42cm piece and two 42 x 30cm pieces. Hem the two smaller pieces along one 42cm edge on each. Place the large piece right side up and lay one smaller piece right side down on top, with the unhemmed 42cm side lining up with the outer edge. Place the second small panel right side down on the others, keeping the unhemmed edge on the other side. Pin in place and sew all the way round before turning the right way out and inserting the cushion inner.
