Transform a plain notebook from drab to fab with a colourful fabric covering
Takes 45mins skill level
ombre fabric, £3.50 per fat quarter, ebay iron a4 notebook with a closed spine ruler Fabric scissors
Double-sided tape 2 sheets a4 card
start by ironing the fabric to remove any creases. lay the fabric face down on a flat surface and place the notebook open on top of it to measure. Mark and cut out the fabric so it measures 2cm extra all the way around. stick a length of double-sided tape to the three external edges of the inside front cover of the book and lean the book open so it stands with the front side down but the rest of the book in the air. Pull the fabric into place and stick to the doublesided tape along each edge, pulling taut as you go. Fold the corners as if wrapping a present and trim any excess fabric. repeat on the back inside cover of the book. Cut two slits where the fabric meets the spine of the notebook at the top and the bottom, then tuck this down inside the spine at each end, trimming any excess if necessary. Cut a piece of card to stick over the inside front and back covers to hide the fabric edges.
