Lend a truly tropical twist to a plain chair!

Chair (we used the ikea poang armchair) 2m ananas tropical fabric, £10 per m, textile express sewing machine & thread Fabric scissors
1 Remove the cushion from the chair and unpick the head section. cut a full-width piece of fabric 142cm long and fold in half with right sides together. Stitch the edges together 8cm from the selvedge, trim the excess and press the seam open to make a tube. Repeat with a piece of fabric 40cm long for the head cushion. 2 Reposition seam so it runs down the centre of the tube. Stitch across the lower edge, turn through to the right side and press. Repeat to make head cushion cover. Slide cushions into their covers, seams at the back. lay cushions in a line with the open cover edges together. Pin the two cushions together above the ends, then stitch. Replace on the chair.
