Chair (we used the ikea poang arm­chair) 2m ananas trop­i­cal fab­ric, £10 per m, tex­tile ex­press sew­ing ma­chine & thread Fab­ric scis­sors

1 Re­move the cush­ion from the chair and un­pick the head sec­tion. cut a full-width piece of fab­ric 142cm long and fold in half with right sides to­gether. Stitch the edges to­gether 8cm from the selvedge, trim the ex­cess and press the seam open to make a tube. Re­peat with a piece of fab­ric 40cm long for the head cush­ion. 2 Re­po­si­tion seam so it runs down the cen­tre of the tube. Stitch across the lower edge, turn through to the right side and press. Re­peat to make head cush­ion cover. Slide cush­ions into their cov­ers, seams at the back. lay cush­ions in a line with the open cover edges to­gether. Pin the two cush­ions to­gether above the ends, then stitch. Re­place on the chair.
