This month we’ve put our own spin on the rus­tic side ta­ble by Loaf and cre­ated a de­sign us­ing on-trend hair­pin legs. They’re the per­fect way to work an in­dus­trial look into your decor and the log slice table­top will add char­ac­ter.

Use sand­pa­per to smooth down one side of the log slice so it’s ready for use as a table­top. If you want an ex­tra layer of pro­tec­tion, ap­ply clear var­nish to the sur­face.

Turn the log slice up­side down and place the three legs equally around the base. Use a mea­sur­ing tape to ad­just their po­si­tion­ing so the spac­ing is equal. Use a pen­cil to mark through the screw holes in each leg, then re­move the legs and make pilot holes. Put the legs back in place and screw through to at­tach se­curely.
