1 Mix a dollop of pesto into a pot of sour cream or crème fraîche for a tasty dip to serve with crudités or breadsticks. 2 Stir pesto into your bread dough to bake a fragrant roll or loaf. Alternatively, mix it with softened butter to spread onto soft rolls and serve with your main meal. 3 Instead of using butter, garnish your vegetables with a spoonful of pesto. Mix it through the vegetables in the pan while still hot or stir it through vegetables in a roasting tray before oven cooking. 4 Use pesto to marinate meat or fish before roasting or grilling. Leave for at least an hour, or overnight if possible, covered and chilled, before cooking. 5 Add a couple of tablespoons of pesto to your mashed potato for an extra flavour boost. Or, for a healthier alternative, stir it through cooked couscous or quinoa.
